Why Mail Matters

Because opening the mailbox should feel like opening a window to a beautiful view.

In a world of scrolls and screens, The Prose & Post Society is a monthly snail mail club offering a moment of tactile joy. A slow dance in a fast-scrolling world. An analog nudge to pause, to take a breath.

Each quote is chosen with care—words meant to anchor you, inspire you, or simply keep you company.

My hope is that you’ll find yourself memorizing these lines over time—so that in a quiet (or chaotic) moment, a beautiful sentence resurfaces.

    1. Join the monthly mail subscription by the 25th to receive that month's edition. (Pause or cancel anytime.) Envelopes begin mailing around the 15th, and if you subscribe after that, I'll send yours as soon as possible so you don't have to wait until the next month.
  • 2. Find something wonderful in your mailbox. Every edition includes two original art prints featuring vintage artwork and literary quotes, a letter from me personalized with your name written by hand in calligraphy, and charming extras created especially for that month.

  • 3. Look forward to what arrives next. Every month is an entirely new edition, with new art, new quotes, and a few surprises I hope you'll love.

FAQs

What is a snail mail club?

Think of it as a subscription for your mailbox. Each month, something wonderful arrives by post. Not a bill, not even a catalog (and we love catalogs), but an envelope you actually want to open.

The Prose & Post Society was created for people who still believe there’s something special and enduring about finding real mail in the mailbox: original art prints pairing vintage artwork with literary quotes, a letter from me with your name written by hand in calligraphy, and bookish extras and ephemera created especially for that month.

When will I receive my first envelope?

If you join by the 25th of the month, you'll receive that month's edition. Envelopes begin mailing around the 15th, and I'll send yours as soon as possible after you subscribe. If you have any questions, please send me a message at jennifer@sixpennystamp.com.

When will my order ship?

Most Six-Penny Stamp orders ship within a few business days. If an item has a different processing time, you’ll find that information on the product page.

The Prose & Post Society follows its own monthly mailing schedule. Current-month editions begin mailing around the 15th.

When will my first Prose & Post Society envelope arrive?

Join The Prose & Post Society by the 25th to receive that month’s edition. Orders placed after the 25th begin with the following month.

Current-month editions begin mailing around the 15th, so depending on when you join, your first envelope may already be on its way or may ship shortly afterward.

Hoping to start with the current edition after the cutoff? Drop me a note. If I can make it happen, I will.

Where do you ship?

The Prose & Post Society ships throughout the U.S. and to many countries around the world. International subscriptions are sent as First-Class letter mail, and delivery times vary by destination. Most international envelopes arrive within 2–4 weeks, though customs and local postal services can occasionally cause delays.

If you don’t see your country as an option at checkout, drop me a note at jennifer@sixpennystamp.com. I’m always happy to consider adding new destinations.

What is your return policy?

Because many Six-Penny Stamp items are made or prepared especially for your order, I’m not able to accept returns or exchanges unless an item arrives damaged or incorrect.

If there’s a problem with your order, please get in touch at jennifer@sixpennystamp.com with your name and order number. If an item arrived damaged or incorrect, please include a photo, too. I always want to make it right.

What if my order doesn’t arrive?

If a tracked package is marked delivered but you can’t find it, please check with your local post office first. They can often help locate a package using the tracking number in your shipping notification.

The Prose & Post Society travels as regular letter mail and does not include tracking. If your envelope seems to have gone missing along the way, please email me at jennifer@sixpennystamp.com. If USPS loses it, I’ll send a replacement.

I’m looking for a great gift. What do you suggest?

You’ve come to the right place. The Prose & Post Society is available as a 3-, 6-, or 12-month gift subscription, with something wonderful arriving in the mailbox month after month. Or visit The Gift Shop at Six-Penny Stamp for literary gifts, paper goods, art, and curious things for readers and other interesting people.

Have another question?

Please contact me here and I’ll be happy to help. I do my best to answer as quickly as possible.

Do people give this as a gift?

Absolutely! Just enter the recipient’s name and address in the Shipping address fields at checkout. You’ll have the option to include a short gift note, too.

Can I pause or cancel anytime?

Need a break or going on a Grand Tour? You can select the months you'd like to skip and set the month you'd like your subscription to resume. If you need to cancel, you can do that anytime, too. Just visit account.sixpennystamp.com and click Manage Subscriptions at the top of the page.

If you have any trouble, please email me at jennifer@sixpennystamp.com
